Fished with friends from the Chicago area today.   We started the morning on the shelf just south of the net in the 13's and trolled down to the 11's taking a few small Kings along the way.  In spite of all the negative BS about the nets in Manistee, we found plenty of open water to fish.  Mid-morning we moved off shore and found some really nice steelhead.  Our biggest was around 11 1/2 pounds and hit the last line we had in the water while pulling lines to come in.  The lake was calm, the weather comfortable, and the fish cooperative.  What more could you ask for?
