 It is looking like winter here in Manistee. We have about an inch of snow on the ground and it is coming down pretty good right now. Deer season has been a bust so far. We have a bear hanging out in the swamp we hunt and I think the deer are avoiding the area. I did get a good look at the bear last week. He passed by within 10 yards of the ground blind I was setting in. He or she looked to be a pretty good sized healthy bear. I have been catching a few fish on the Little Manistee River but other than that don't have much to report. I am heading to Ohio with a friend later today. We are going to give the Ohio deer season opener a shot. I don't have real high expectations but look forward to getting out of town for a couple days.
